Physiological Testing
Which test is right for you? We focus on testing in the field, within the environment where you train and compete — where your results will be the most meaningful to your training and racing.
We also offer controlled testing using treadmills, Wattbike Atom, and Concept II rowing ergometer.
Blood Lactate Threshold Testing
A progressive step test conducted in the field during your sport. We will identify your aerobic threshold (LT1) and anaerobic threshold (LT2), providing you with precise training zones based on heart rate, pace, and power.
Using the Arkray Lactate Pro 2 analyser, we take small blood samples at each stage to measure your lactate response to increasing intensity. This gives you a clear picture of exactly where your thresholds sit.
Recommended several times yearly to track your fitness progression and adjust your training accordingly.
Muscle Oxygen Assessment
A cutting-edge and non-invasive technique that allows us to monitor your muscles in real-time whilst you exercise.
Using Moxy Monitor sensors, we measure muscle oxygen saturation (SmO2) and total haemoglobin (tHb). This data reveals how your muscles are using oxygen during exercise.
Applications include identifying training zones, performing muscle-specific assessments, and monitoring your muscular response to different types of exercise and recovery.
Core Body Temperature Monitoring
Regulation of core body temperature is fundamental to peak performance — cooler is faster!
Using CORE sensors, we provide real-time, non-invasive measurement of your core temperature response during exercise. This data is invaluable for developing heat training protocols and cooling strategies for event preparation.
Understanding your thermal response can be the difference between a good race and a great one.
Power & Pace Profiling
With a little bit of testing data from you, we can analyse your power and/or pace profile in the context of your goals.
This involves discussing your objectives and training history, then providing detailed analysis and recommendations. We help you understand where your strengths and limiters lie, and how to structure your training to address them.
